WHAT IS FAITH PATH 5?

The Family Ministry has partnered with the age group ministries (Preschool, Children & Students) to offer something we call the Faith Path. The Faith Path simply affords us the opportunity to come alongside families at critical stages and provide support, resources, encouragement and tips for navigating the spiritual realities of the stage of life their kids are currently in. We call it the Faith Path 5. It’s actually the 5th step on the Faith Path (did you know you were already on the path?) but that’s not where it gets it’s name. Your elementary/intermediate school child is at a stage in which he/she is capable and needs to begin developing spiritual habits of their own, but that starts with Mom & Dad.

On Sunday, October 1st, following the second service, we will host parents (and their kids) for a lunch at no charge to you. Kids will be provided for in childcare (and will be fed also). Following the lunch, we will ask you (parents) to go to 1 of 5 breakouts. Each breakout will last about 30-45 minutes. We should be done no later than 1:30pm. RSVP is required (food & childcare reasons). Select your breakout when you register. Couples can “divide and conquer” or attend the same breakout. To RSVP, click HERE!

BREAKOUT SESSIONS:

Bible Reading: How to Establish the Habit of Bible Reading in Your Home - We will describe different strategies that have worked and allow the group to brainstorm new ideas.

Prayer - We will talk about how to teach your kids to seek God in prayer, and not just pray about the everyday things that we sometimes get in a rut praying for. And we will help the audience think through strategies that could be tried at home to help families pray more often and more significantly.

Scripture Memory - Do you struggle to memorize scripture? How about helping your child memorize scripture? This breakout will help you find fun ways to help kids learn and remember Scripture.

Family Worship - Surprisingly, it doesn’t require you to play the piano, the keyboard, or even the bongos. But we will share principles of worship and ideas for how to capture the hearts of our kids in worshiping our Savior.

Life on Mission at Home - We will share strategies and ideas for how your family can live on mission. It can be as big as going on a mission trip as a family to something very small that has a lasting effect on how our kids view the world and God’s role for them in it. We look forward to hosting you and seeing what God can do through your family as you strengthen these spiritual habits.
