Welcome, John Caleb Threadcraft, of Threadcraft Counseling!

John Caleb specializes in Marriage and Family counseling as well as working through individual issues with a focus on helping the inner person develop mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Threadcraft graduated from Briarwood Christian High School in Birmingham, AL in 1996 and received a B.S. in Psychology from Auburn University in 2000. Following graduation, he traveled overseas where he worked with humanitarian aid workers and missionaries until September 11th, 2002, at which time he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Two years after enlisting Threadcraft attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA, where he was commissioned as an Infantry officer. Qualified as a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, he left the Army in 2009 and began conducting private security work in support of the U.S. Government abroad. In 2011, he opened his own logistics company and worked in Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East until 2015 when he returned home to complete a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. In 2017, John Caleb relocated to Alabama with his wife Jessica, daughter Shea and son Noah.

John Caleb is currently licensed by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling (ABEC) as an Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of Mr. Adam Calvert. John Caleb is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and is currently completing a Master of Science degree at Liberty University with a focus on crisis response and trauma. He and his family are members of North Shelby Baptist Church. Threadcraft Counseling has already begun counseling clients on location here at Valleydale. Valleydale members are eligible for reduced rate counseling services as the church will be paying a portion of the counseling fee.
