A deacon is a position of servant-leadership in the church with responsibility for several practical areas of ministry. Areas of service include Sunday Team, Care Team, Prayer Team and Service Team. 

At Valleydale, a Deacon must be a man at least 21 years of age and  a member of the church for at least one year prior to being elected.
